Hello !!!  I have been lurking on this site for a while now and thought it was about time to come out of the closet, lol.  I have learned so much from the wonderful people on this site already and look forward to making more friends.  You all are one big family the way you help and comfort each other thru good and bad times.  I have great support from my family at home and I attend the St. Vincent support group meetings in New Castle, but hopefully you can make room for me in the "OH" family as well.  I'm down to my last appt. (pulmanologist) before surgery @ St. Vincent/Carmel on April 20th.  I'm excited and nervous , ok I'm very nervous but I'm so ready to be able to do some of the things I used to be able to do and to regain my life back.  Thank you all and it's good to be out of that closet !!!!!!

The beauty of a woman is not seen through what she wears. It is seen through how she carries herself and the way she doesn’t allow herself to settle. Don’t ever let anyone take for granted the beauty that is within you. Stand firm and know that you’re a wonderful person. Always remember your value and respect yourself. I’m so blessed to have you in my life.  Sometimes we all need to be reminded how special we really are!

Hi Jamie.  I heard about you from Alta when I visited her in the hospital because we all have the same surgeon and I believe you both attend the same support group.  She blew the whistle on you then and told me that you "lurk" on here and that I should let you know that her surgery went well and she was up walking the halls.  I expect you read my message from your closet  but I'm thrilled  that you've come out to join us now

I understand you being nervous but I have known Dr. Kad for almost 9 years now and have seen him regularly all that time and you can rest assured that you are in very capable hands.  He's one of the veterans there that has been performing these surgeries the longest and he really cares about his patients.

If you have any questions, just call his office and talk to Denise or Sylvia.  They are good about returning calls promptly.  If they don't you let me know and I'll call them and advocate for you.  I'll send you a PM later with some more information.  But don't look for it now.  Give me a couple hours.

You will find lots of helpful people here as you begin your journey.  Before you know it, you won't even want to hide in that closet anymore.  You'll be enjoying life way too much.

hugs,
Kat

Jamie, welcome to the group!  We are a very fun bunch for sure.  We are always so glad to welcome a newbie and get to know them better.  So, jump in and post and share your thoughts.  We are here for you and look forward to hearing about your journey.

I know there is another person having their surgery on the 20th at ST V so you have a surgery sister on the board already.  Maybe you can walk the halls together.  Her screenname is momof2wthkids and her name is Melissa.

Huge hugs,
Tracy
